INTRODUCTION
Neuro-Ophthalmology is a sub-specialty in Ophthalmology that deals with eye cases related to the nervous system in the brain. We serve patients by providing consultation regarding the diagnosis and treatment of cases of the optic nerve.
Patients with main complaints in the eyes related to the nervous system in the brain such as stroke, brain tumor, head trauma or patients with complaints of sudden blurry vision, double vision, protruding eyes, crossed eyes are some examples of eye nerve cases that can be handled in the unit. Diagnostic examinations in the Neuro-Ophthalmology unit are supported by the Diagnostic Unit which has advanced diagnostic equipment. We can perform visual field examination with perimetry, fundus photo to assess the optic nerve and retina and Ophthalmic Computed Tomography (OCT) to see the thickness of the eye nerve fiber layer. In addition, our diagnostic unit is equipped with electrodiagnostic tools such as electroretinography (ERG) and visual evoked potential (VEP).
